Standard anchor and mooring winches from Steger & Windhagen have maximum traction of up to 120 KN and a retention force of up to 450 KN. Depending on your requirements, we fit anchor winches with chain discs for anchor chain cables in accordance with DIN 766 in all available sizes from 12.5 mm (chain cable) to 36 mm. We adapt anchor wired drums to your individual requirements and construct them according to the diameter and the wire length. Each chain disc or anchor wired drum can be fitted with a pneumatic slipper.

The cable drums for mooring winches are produced with or without a separating plate, according to your details.

The torque is transferred, as desired, via a claw coupling or a friction coupling from the main shaft to the chain disc and cable drum.

The winch is usually driven by a three-phase motor. Steger & Windhagen winches can also be driven hydraulically, by hand or using a diesel engine, depending on the size of the gears.

All S & W winches can be classified according to DNV-GL (German Lloyd) and BV (Bureau Veritas). Other classification companies usually recognise these inspections and approvals.
